With the uptake of electric vehicles (EV's) soaring, many potential customers, individuals and homeowners alike, are seemingly unaware of the grants out there and potentially available to them.
Here, we list out all current grants, and to whom they might be available;
Businesses
Workplace Charger Scheme (WCS) - The Workplace Charging Scheme provides support for organisations towards the cost of installing up to 40 electric vehicle chargepoint sockets at their sites.
The scheme covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (including VAT), capped at a maximum of:
£350 per socket
40 sockets across all sites per applicant – for instance, if you want to install them at 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site

State-Funded Education Institutions
Workplace Charging Scheme For State-Funded Education Institutions - This grant is for state-funded schools and education institutions to install electric vehicle chargepoint sockets at their site(s). Â
Installations usually cost around £1,500 to £2,500, depending on the area and type of installation.
You can get 75% off the cost to buy and install chargepoints up to a maximum of:Â
£2,500 per socketÂ
40 sockets across all sites including any applications made previously via the Workplace Charging Scheme
Residential Renters & Flat Owners
Electric vehicle Chargepoint Grant For Renters And Flat Owners - The grant provides electric vehicle (EV) drivers who are renters or own a flat with support towards the costs of the purchase and installation of EV charge points.
An electric vehicle (EV) chargepoint grant can help towards the cost of installing an electric vehicle chargepoint socket at your property. Â
You can get 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, up to a maximum of £350.
You can apply for this grant if you either:
own and live in a flatÂ
rent any residential property (this includes properties under the shared ownership scheme)
You must own an eligible vehicle and your home must have its own private off-street parking space.

Landlords
There are two grants you can get for installing chargepoints for electric vehicles at a property you own.
Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargepoint Grant
An EV chargepoint grant gives you money off the cost of installing an electric vehicle chargepoint socket.Â
You can get 75% off the cost to buy and install a socket, up to a maximum of £350 per socket.
You can receive up to 200 grants a year for residential properties, and a further 100 for commercial properties.
Electric Vehicle (EV) Infrastructure Grant
An EV infrastructure grant gives you money off the cost of wider building and installation work that’s needed to install multiple chargepoint sockets. The work can be for sockets you want to install now and in the future. For example, an EV infrastructure grant can cover things like wiring and posts. You can get 75% off the cost of the work up to a maximum of £30,000. The amount depends on how many parking spaces the work covers.Â
You can get:
up to £350 per chargepoint socket installed
up to £500 per parking space enabled with supporting infrastructure
You can receive up to 30 grants each financial year for installing infrastructure in residential carparks.

Business Owners
Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Grant For Staff And Fleets
This grant is for small and medium-sized businesses.
An EV infrastructure grant gives you money off the cost of wider building and installation work that’s needed to install multiple chargepoint sockets.
The work can be for sockets you want to install now and in the future. For example, an EV infrastructure grant can cover things like wiring and posts.
The grant covers 75% of the cost of the work, up to a maximum of £15,000. You can get:
up to £350 per chargepoint socket installed
up to £500 per parking space enabled with supporting infrastructure
You can receive up to 5 grants across 5 different sites.
